Hello, everyone.

I’m standing at my kitchen counter in my new home in Portsmouth, Rhode Island as I write this.  Standing because my furniture will not arrive for a few more days.  I tried to go to the nearest hotspot café, but, typical for Mercury retrograde, their router wasn’t working.  I have internet access in my home as of yesterday, but I was hoping for a place to actually sit down!

There are only a few major aspects this week, but each one is intense!  So pay special attention to the days listed below, and other than that, relax and enjoy the New Year festivities.

Monday and Tuesday

We’ve examined the square between Saturn in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn several times and will no doubt look at it several more times before it ends next summer.  This is a major signature of our times.  The planet of evolution squares off against the planet of material form, bringing business systems and government (Capricorn) into conflict with partnerships and alliances (Libra). (For more details, see the Saturn/Pluto Square category to the right.)

Into this mix dances Venus this week, on Monday conjuncting Pluto and on Tuesday squaring Saturn.   Maybe she’s not dancing:  in Capricorn she’s likely to be budgeting her resources and testing the reliability of her relationships.  For business this means a couple of days when the Saturn/Pluto square gets personal, bringing its difficult combination into our financial lives and creative efforts. How to take advantage of this time?   Have serious conversations with partners about debt, deficits, and living within your means.

Thursday

Thursday, New Year’s Eve, holds the second Full Moon in December, a blue Moon, and also a partial lunar eclipse.  The Moon’s eclipse is in the mid-afternoon.  In many cultures, an eclipse is a time to observe silence and spiritual practices and travel is not recommended.  Keep this in mind as you go about your preparations for New Year’s Eve.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  MAY IT BE FORTUNATE, ABUNDANT, AND PRODUCTIVE OF YOUR HIGHEST DREAMS.
