Hello, everyone.

This is a very interesting week, potentially a game-changer.  The Saturn Uranus opposition coupled with the Full Moon makes it a week of stand-offs, duels, challenges and the need for an extremely balanced sense of self and others.  There is greatness in this week as well as startling new insights and recognition.

Monday

On Monday Saturn and Uranus square off for the fourth out of five times since November 2008.   The relationship between Saturn and Uranus is a tough one, ever since Greek and Roman times when Saturn cut off Uranus’ testicles and threw them into the sea.  Saturn represents time, tradition, structure, and hierarchy.  Uranus represents innovation, inspiration, breakthroughs and anarchy.  Each necessary, these two sides of life don’t naturally get along.

Do you feel caught in the middle?  Are certain situations in your life forcing you to settle for safety and security while others require breaking out and breaking free?  Have you been see-sawing back and forth, reaching for something and then retreating to safety?  These are signs of this opposition and actually right in the middle is a good place to be.

The exact opposition on Monday signifies the true balance point between these energies.  It is a golden time to create a pathway that takes the best of the past and puts it in service to the future.  But if not handled wisely, or if allowed to be projected onto others or the government or big business or the health care establishment, then these institutions will play the roles of enforcer or disruptor all too well.  The key for us and our business success is to recognize that it is we who are yearning for a breakthrough and we who are putting up the barriers, too.

If we can own and embrace these opposing energies, and not allow either to defeat the other, then we’ll have full access to brilliance and breakthrough tempered by practical wisdom and application.  Isn’t that what leads to success?

Wednesday

On Wednesday the Scorpio Moon opposes the Taurus Sun – the Full Moon.  Once each month the energy represented by the Sun, our ego, our will, our authority is exactly balanced by the energy represented by the Moon, our emotional responses, our needs, and the others in our lives.  In business astrology, the Sun represents the leader; the Moon represents the employees, the public, and the customers.

Both Scorpio and Taurus are related to money.  Taurus rules our own finances and Scorpio rules outside resources like lenders, investors, and insurers.   This Full Moon asks you to become aware of the extent of your reliance on these outside resources and whether they are helping or hindering your own financial stability.  What is the ratio of your debt to your assets?  How is your credit rating?  How much of your monthly budget is spent on interest payments?  These issues may be perfectly in balance or they may need adjustment one way or the other.  This Full Moon brings awareness.

Later in the day the Sun joins retrograde Mercury.  This is the turning point in the retrograde cycle.  As Erin Sullivan says in her more-than-excellent book, Retrograde Planets, “What is revealed at the conjunction is appropriate to the new beginning which emerges at the stationary-direction point [about 10 days later].”  This is the time to allow your unconscious to bring you the information you will need when Mercury resumes direct motion.

It would serve you well to take it easy on Wednesday, perhaps rest a little.  Combined with the Full Moon, this Sun/Mercury conjunction could surprise you with the depth of knowledge it can reveal.  Rest and quiet will allow you to receive so much more.  I hope you can!
